Shares are transferred to the legal heirs based on the Certificate of Inheritance, and new share transfer certificates are issued accordingly.

Required Documents

  • Original and copy of the Certificate of Inheritance
  • Original and copy of the national ID or birth certificate of all heirs
  • Original and copy of the inheritance tax payment receipt
  • Original and copy of the death certificate
  • Original and copy of the deceased shareholder's share certificate
  • Original and copy of the power of attorney (if one heir has been appointed as the legal representative)

The representative may submit these documents to the listed companies in which the deceased held shares. Heirs may first request a statement of the deceased's securities holdings from the Central Securities Depository of Iran (CSDI). After verification, each heir's share is calculated according to the Certificate of Inheritance and submitted to the CSDI for processing. Once approved, the shares are transferred and new share transfer certificates are issued.

Notes

  1. If all heirs appoint one person as their legal representative, the shares are transferred to that representative rather than being divided among the heirs.
  2. The legal representative must present the original power of attorney and valid identification to the CSDI within 10 days of submitting the inheritance request. Otherwise, the shares will be distributed directly among the heirs.
  3. Representatives residing outside Tehran may have their power of attorney verified at the Legal Department of the regional stock exchanges located throughout the country.
